Other Details: NARM, the music business association, held their annual awards dinner gala in Century City last night, and the big winners were Katy Perry (who took home “Artist Of The Year”), and Lionel Richie (who won the “Chairman’s Award for Sustained Creative Achievement”). Perry sported a goth-y look complete with purple hair, and cracked a few jokes about the impending EMI/Universal music merger while accepting her award. Richie, whose “Sustained Creative Achievement” award was basically a lifetime tribute, went out of his way to give heartfelt praise to his bandmates from The Commodores, saying “without the Commodores I would not be me.”
