Other details: Academy Award winning actor, Sidney Portier was one of five persons honored at UCLA’s Longevity Center’s 2012 ICON Awards. The acting legend, who has been in the entertainment business for over five decades, received the ICON Award for Artistic Excellence. Other recipients included Jane and Terry Semel, and Shlomo Rechnitz and Steve Rechnitz. The evening, hosted by Lisa Ann Walter, featured a performance from Natalie Cole, and presentations from Quincy Jones and Morgan Freeman.
