Other details: On Wednesday night, Marcus Haney presented guests with a glimpse into his thrilling ventures: sneaking into the world’s most prominent and music festivals. The Wiltern Theatre served as the perfect venue for the event. Haney debuted his film and responded to a brief Q&A, which chiefly consisted of googly-eyed girls begging for information regarding his "after party." Following this, Haney introduced the surprise band, Young the Giant, who performed a short but impressive, acoustic set.
Haney's documentary film, “No Cameras Allowed” shares his personal journey from a college student to what he is today: an acclaimed, self-made, and risk-taking photographer. While many viewers may be put off by this renegade topic, last night's audience confirmed that the film is stimulating: endless laughter, raw, relatable emotions, and a fantastic story. Haney exposes this part of his life, allowing audience members to truly feel like they've met both the filmmaker and his friends. The encounters caught on film are remarkable, and one really remembers the unique friends made along the way, such as easy-going, Acid Chris and English Grim-Grim. The film captivated the screening audience and will undoubtedly do the same to anyone who is interested in the music festival phenomenon. We should warn you though: don't try what Marcus has at home, kids.
