Waterloo & City
How, exactly, does one go about describing the cuisine on a menu that includes white corn ravioli, Thai gazpacho, and an Indian butter chicken pizza? I guess "eclectic" works. But bizarrely enough, so does this restaurant, an ostensibly British gastropub in what appears to be an old Norm's in Culver City with a great beer selection, friendly service, and an absolute madman in head chef Brendan Collins, who took a childhood love of the, shall we say, less widespread cuts of meat (tripe, tongue, marrow, etc), and turned that into a robust backdrop for the hearty cuisine served up within. While the Restaurant Week menu doesn't include too much of their amazing house-made charcuterie (get the rabbit & pistachio terrine), you could easily add some more to complement your Waterloo Wellington, your bacon-topped Halibut, or the aforementioned ravioli.
