Why The Lakers Will Still Be Better #3: Donald Sterling, World-Class Scumbag

Dr. Jerry Buss, the owner of the Lakers, is considered by most to be a paragon of class and a pillar of the local community. Donald Sterling, the owner of the Clippers? Eh, not so much. Picture one of the greedy, evil villains from "Captain Planet" who basically liked to pollute just for the fun of it, and then make him about 75% more racist, and you get a decent portrait of a man who refused to let team health insurance cover his ex-coach's cancer treatments, heckles his own players, and as a landlord engaged in horrible, racist housing discrimination that doesn't sound funny no matter how you say it. All things being equal, I think you can still root for the Clippers without rooting for Donald Sterling. After all, he made even more profit on them when he wasn't spending any money on making them competitive. You should probably just root for the Clippers to win the title, immediately followed by Donald Sterling getting hit by a bolt of lightning. But if they don't win, just know that it may be karma at play. [photo via]
