John Singleton & Ice Cube Plan N.W.A. Biopic "Straight Outta Compton"
N.W.A. (initials for Niggaz With Attitude) was formed in Compton in 1986 by Eazy-E, Dr. Dre, Ice Cube and DJ Yella. The young rappers would become pioneers of gangsta rap and release music under the N.W.A. name until 1991 when the group eventually split up. Its full list of members includes DJ Yella ('86-'91), Dr. Dre ('86-'91), Eazy-E ('86-'91), Ice Cube (86-'89), Arabian Prince (86-88), and MC Ren ('88-'91).
