Stevie Wonder
Having Stevie Wonder headline is a total coup for Outside Lands, not only because he's one of the most talented and accomplished American musicians of all time, but also because he completely transcends "hipster cred." While hipster festival goers are basically equipped to shit on almost any headliner choice with a completely unjustifiable set of value judgements and haughty disapproval, Stevie is completely untouchable, and one could easily picture someone attempting to criticize the selection only to be exiled from hipsterdom and out into the wilderness. Plus, he covered Michael Jackson ("The Way You Make Me Feel") and sang "Happy Birthday" to Outside Lands. How cool is that?
