Brian Toll, John TerzianWhich of your projects are you most proud of and why?I have always had a charitable side and over the past few years I have been able to use my business side to help numerous charities. I am active with Children’s Hospital, GiveLove and Imagine LA. I am undertaking my biggest charity project to date with Imagine LA and launching their first Imagine Ball. The Imagine Ball is a concert to raise money for the organization. It is aimed at getting families off the streets. This concert is important because it will draw people in to donate money and support without having to spend a fortune on the typical banquet dinner. I am big on collaborations, when it makes sense. It is smart to have people that have a different eye or a different demographic come together. I am more on the visual and execution side of the collaborations. It all comes down to your relationships and like-minded people. The fun part is seeing everything come together. It is so gratifying.For our new readers who have never been to your clubs, how would you describe them and try to woo them inside?At any of h.wood’s venues, Bootsy L.A. and Aspen, Henry’s, and SHOREBar, always expect a wide variety of people, but overall have an underlying similarity of shared appreciation for art and decor. We are always staying fresh with new events, musical acts, and groups of people. We are constantly searching for new things to be in our venues.Of your clubs, where do you like to hang out the most and why?SHOREbar is my baby for many reasons. Primarily because I wanted a small bar just for my friends and family since I grew up in the area. Two and a half years ago, we took an old run-down dive bar and turned it into a little gathering place. It has turned into a much bigger deal than I ever anticipated.
