What is this, Control Queen Week at Social Q’s? It is your prerogative to keep the carpets clean and your visitors’ shoes off. (That’s not how I roll, but I don’t pay the rent on your place, either.) I also applaud your zeal in wiping out stinky feet, one pair at a time. But if a quiet word with your boyfriend does not improve his roommate’s hoof hygiene, better to exclude him from future shindigs. Demanding shoe checks and foot baths, both, is a brogue too far.
