The Psychedelic Western: Dead Man

Dead ManNow considered a cult classic, Dead Man, dubbed by writer and director Jim Jarmusch as a "psychedelic Western," and often called a postmodern Western, is perhaps one of Depp's finest performances. As a timid accountant, William Blake, coming to take a job on the frontier, Johnny's journey from accountant to wanderer is beautifully acted and emotionally gripping. Befriended by a Native American named Nobody who believes that Blake is a reincarnation of poet William Blake, they travel west together to reunite Blake with what Nobody believes to be Blake's proper place in the spirit world. Certain to enthrall, Dead Man will have you thanking the acting gods for giving us Johnny Depp. [Dead Man via Facebook]
