In 2003, Phil Spector, originator of the "Wall of Sound" production technique, was convicted for second-degree murder for killing actress Lana Clarkson. Spector's attorney's have been arguing that his constitutional due process rights were violated because the prosecutors used the trial judge's comments about a testimony, making the judge a witness for prosecution.
