3. The Strange Familiar announces the release date of their debut album, Chasing Shadows. Signed to Krian Music Group, The Strange Familiar is releasing their album April 10th. Their song "Being Me," from the album, was chosen as fan favorite on mtvU's "The Freshman" viewer's choice competition the week of March 5th, 2012. On the band, mtvU said,

"There's been a ton of successful bands coming out of Ohio in recent years like Cloud Nothings, The Black Keys and The National for starters, and this week's Freshmen winners The Strange Familiar are poised to join that group of rocking Buckeyes."
