You might be thinking, “one of these things is not like the other,” but just wait a minute. Have you seen who’s playing?! The great thing about Jazz Fest is that it’s about 95% jazz bands that you've (and when I say you, I mean I as a layman human) have never heard of. Except for the Jazz Hall Preservation Band, those guys are awesome.
The other 5% are amazing talents-huge names- that we would be humbled to see in the same sitting. From The Who and John Legend to Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga, to Elton John to Lenny Kravitz, talk about serious star power. This is the more mature older brother of the festival world- though don’t be fooled – we know what goes on during Mardi Gras. But hey, if you missed Mardi Gras, this is a great second opportunity to explore NOLA…with fewer beads and nip not-so-slips. Good luck choosing between the two weekends!
