Portraits of New York Chinatown

Portraits of New York Chinatown
We all love this city for its melting pot of tastes and cultures, and one New York niche that stands out above the rest is undoubtedly Chinatown. From the authentic cuisine to the underground bars, it's one hood worth appreciating, and that's exactly what artist Tomie Arai and scholar Lena Sze have done in this new exhibition. Based on the oral accounts of 27 neighborhood natives and community leaders, moving portraits capture the themes of gentrification and displacement. When: December 13-April 13 Where: Museum of Chinese in America, 215 Centre St [Photo via]
