It may be surprising to hear that Damian Loeb's current showing at Acquavella Galleries is his first landscape exhibition. In his 12 paintings and six oil sketches, the artist gives rise to a series of distinct tensions, between digital imagery and classic painting, between the celestial outskirts of the universe and the most earthly of the earthly elements—water. Named for the scientific title of Earth,
Sol d, third planet from the sun, the presentation offers up a stunning view of our world and the worlds surrounding us.
