Hernan Bas, Occult Contemporary

Hernan Bas, Occult Contemporary
Feeling devilish? Check out Hernan Bas' Occult Contemporary, opening this Thursday at Lehmann Maupin. Bas seeks to reclaim the wonder of the supernatural, which he believes is overexposed in media and entertainment, through a series of paintings based on tales of the devil and his trickery. The Detroit-based artist is a self-described nihilist romantic heavily influenced by stories from history and literature. Through April 21 at Lehmann Maupin, 540 West 26 Street Opening Reception: Thursday, March 15, 6-8pm For more information, go HERE. [Photo via]
