Two Steps Ahead, Katherine Taylor

Tonight, the Young Members Committee at the National Arts Club invites you to the opening reception for ‘Two Steps Ahead’: Sculpture and Drawings by Katherine Taylor from 6-8pm. Taylor lives and works in Texas and the Basque Country of Spain, but is in New York for the duration of the exhibition, where she highlights the history of chess. Originally, commissioned to create artwork for an Egyptian art collector’s refugee family members, Taylor sought to create works that were small and portable. From this assignment, Taylor ultimately drew inspiration in order to create her drawings and personalized chess set. Visitors are also invited to play a game of chess against an opponent at the exhibition. Date: March 20th- April 2nd Where: The National Arts Club, 15 Gramercy Park South
