Photography and the American Civil War and Making the Invisible Visible at the Met
Take a trip to the Met and check out two new and very different shows. The first, Photography and the American Civil War, displays more than 200 Civil War photographs and examines the evolution of photography during the nation's most gruesome war. Art from the second exhibition opening at the Met hails from the other side of the world- Asia and the Middle East. The show, titled Making the Invisible Visible: Conversation and Islamic Art highlights the discoveries conservators and curators made while re-examining the Museum's collection of Islamic art before reopening the galleries in 2011. Dates: April 2nd-August 4th Where: The Metropolitan Museum of Art, 1000 5th Avenue [Photo via]
