Elena Lyakir, Punctuated History
Elena Lyakir joins forces with furniture designer Eric Slayton for a collaborative showcase of sculpture and photography. Her photographs capture birds in frenzied flight, inspired by her own escape from Soviet Ukraine when she was 16. While the natural depictions remain brightly vivid, the image blurs and fades along the edges, almost as if the centrifugal force of her own displacement punctuates every interpretation of her surroundings.
An opening reception will be held from 6-9pm on Thursday, June 6
