"Best $2K I Ever Spent!" A Dance Craze Hits New York

by Chiara Atik · September 30, 2010

Is NYC really a dancing city? It doesn't seem like it. Apart from the random smattering of dancing clubs in the East Village, it seems that as a city, we're more "loungers" than "dancers". Still, the folks at Le Souk and Blind Barber on Tuesday night busted out moves that are definitely worth mentioning.-

Ok, wow. That's one way to assure yourself some space on the dance floor, besides elbowing everyone else away. Also, are moves from 3rd grade gymnastics fair game now? Cause this is inspiring me to try a back bend next time I'm out.

Is this "The Twist"?! Oh god, how awesome would this girl be if this was The Twist.

I don't know it, but I like it.

We take a break from these photos of dancing for The Best Side-Eye Ever.

Pretty sure that's the same girl who did the splits. She was having a good night.

Good way to distract from lack of moves? Bring out your laser pointer and go crazy.

They're clearly in the middle of a tango or cha-cha.

He's doing The Frankenstein, and she's holding on for dear life.
