"Best $2k I Ever Spent!" NYC Halloween Weekend 2009!

by Rachelle Hruska · November 2, 2009

Whether you hate it or live for it, Halloween wrecked havoc on our city this weekend. The safe (and smart) thing to have done would have been to stay locked inside with some candy and your favorite horror film. But loads of crazy be-bopers couldn't resist the urge to get some tricks in this Saturday. Besides the streets being filled with these crazies on the loose (see left), there were more parties to attend than you knew what to do with. Though it would have been best to pick one and stay put (lest you waste your night in your car), here is a list of some of the parties that the GofG'ers were at...

We hope to post more on most of these parties, with photos later on in day. If you got caught in our galleries make sure and tag yourself, there's a good chance no one would recognize you anyway, at least if your costume was noteworthy. Speaking of which, go HERE for a list of our favorite looks.

Stephanie NewhouseStephanie and Jesse Newhouse's UES Halloween Party. Jesse (grandson of Si Newhouse) hosted a party with his new wife Stephanie at his parents apartment at 720 Park Avenue which started off the evening for many socials. Alex McCord and Simon Van Kempen showed up dressed as mummies.

The Randolph Bar boys threw down an Abracadabra party at 349 Broome St.

Tribecca Grand was hot with the "Overlook Party" care of Steven Rojas.

The Celebrities were out in full force on Halloween.

The Jane Hotel/Smile crew threw a big party in a building on 28th street. Attendees included Terry Richardson, Julie Gilhart, Jen Brill, Charlotte Ronson, Scott Lips, Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough. (Invite on left).

The Day & Night party from the Koch Brothers started with a Halloween brunch at Revel and carried over to Cipriani's Upstairs. The last party at the hot spot until the entire club gets a remodel.

The Standard Hotel hosted the "Last Magazine Party"

Vice spent $250k on their 15th Anniversary Halloween party in a massive two-story warehouse in Brooklyn.

DJ Francesco Civetta was spinning at the Le Cirque Halloween Party

The Gossip Girl crew took over 1Oak

Sean Lennon hosted a hot party: "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Undead"

DGI Management's wild Halloween Party featured a performance by Salt n'Peppa, and was attended by Mischa Barton and Brandon Davis.

Jill Zarin hosted her own private Halloween party, so did Kelly Bensimon (at Space!), Heidi Klum threw her annual party at Voyeur in West Hollywood,  Southside wrangled in the preppy halloweeners, The Park, Avenue, and Bowery Hotel all held their own, but the late night Halloween party of the year went, once again, to:

Nur Khan's Heroes & Villains Halloween Bash at Rose Bar with an attendee list including Jason Statham, Alexa Chung, Alex Turner (Arctic Monkeys), Kirsten Dunst, Lily Donaldson, Caroline Winberg, Alexandra Richards, Katherine Trapp, Rufus Wainright

Andrew Bevan took it downtown and underground with a basement party at Bowery Electric, but there was nothing low brow about the guests: Bee Shaffer showed up, dressed as Cruella De Vil.
