The Mental Race: Calm the mind. Rest the body. Energize the spirit Team Continuum and its partner, Urban Zen Foundation are very pleased to announce our first Runner's Wellness Clinic. After months of practice and preparation, Team Continuum runners are at peak physical condition for the big race on November 7th. We would like to have all runners now turn their attention from the physical preparation to the mental race. While you spend the last few pre-race days slowing down your physical regiment, Team Continuum and its partner, Urban Zen Foundation hope you will join us as we launch this groundbreaking Runner's Wellness Clinic on November 4th& 5th from 5-9 PM at Urban Zen Foundation, 705 Greenwich Street (bet. Charles St. and W. 10 St). Team Continuum's Coach John Hirsch has worked closely with the Urban Zen Integrative Therapy (UZIT) program to create this two-day clinic assisting runners in their pre-marathon preparation. Yoga instructors from the UZIT program will guide athletes through a yoga and meditation class that will focus on the restorative, grounding and clarity benefits created specifically for your mental preparation. Coach John Hirsch has also put together a roster of speakers on various topics to help you prepare for your competition. We are especially excited that Urban Zen's trained therapists (UZITs) are available to offer private half-hour sessions of eastern healing techniques to provide you with an opportunity to calm the mind, rest the body and energize the spirit just days before the big race. Each session is thirty minutes in length and require a reservation (see below). From guided meditation to the energy balancing of Reiki and restorative poses of yoga therapy, TC and UZ hope you will take advantage of this clinic to give you an additional edge to your race. Please take a moment to look at the different opportunities UZ and TC have created, from aromatherapy to ways to prevent injury during competition.
