In the duo Skáidi, jazz bassist Steinar Raknes and traditional joiker Inga Juuso tear jazz and joik from their respective traditions, creating a new, unrefined expression that transcends both mediums and results in a distinctive musical landscape where joik and bass share equal pride of place.
Co-presented in collaboration with the World Music Institute and the Royal Norwegian Consulate General in New York.
