THE CROWNING OF THE NYC KING AND QUEEN OF ARMS - APRIL 30 Men, Women come to grips at the 34th Annual NYC Big Apple Grapple Arm Wrestling Championships New York, New York March 11, 2011 -- The New York Arm Wrestling Association announced today that the Village Pourhouse (Award winning NYC Sports Bar) located at 64 Third Avenue at 11th Street in NYC, will host the 34th Annual NYC Big Apple Grapple International Arm Wrestling Championships on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at 1 p.m. Entry fees: $20 amateurs, $30 pros… Spectators are invited to watch for a $5 admission charge. Contestants must be 21 and asked to weigh-in and register early. The event will feature over 100 of the world’s best arm wrestlers, both male and female, as they compete for the chance to be crowned NYCs King and Queen of Arms. The days feature event is the Masters 50 years-old $2,000 BEST 3 OUT OF 5 MATCHES between 2010 World Arm Wrestling Champion Bobby Buttafuoco (Yes, Joeys brother) from Rockville Centre, NY and Power Hand Strength Performer Frank ”˜Iron Hands Malis from West Islip, NY who could bend bolts in seconds and rip two decks of playing cards in half. Athletes will participate from the NY tri-state area and from countries such as Turkey, Brazil, Russia, Poland and Hungary. Among those expected to take part are Brooklyn stars Joyce Boone from Carroll Gardens, a seven-time champion who broke her arm in 1997 and amazingly is the current NY State Champion and two-times NYC King of Arms Georgi Geloshvili from Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn.
