Join us in Prospect Park, Brooklyn for our 2nd Annual Run4Kiva 5K on Sunday, August 14th at 10:00am, in collaboration with the Brooklyn Road Runners Club. All proceeds go to support Kiva entrepreneurs through the non-withdrawable New York Team Fund and to supporting Kiva’s growth.
Kiva.org is a non-profit organization with a mission to connect people through lending to alleviate poverty. Since its founding in 2005, Kiva has made over $203 million in loans in over 55 developing countries just through the power of the Internet. At $25 increments, individuals lend to help create opportunities for entrepreneurs around the world.
And with everyone that signs up for our run, the Kiva NY Lending Team can support that mission. The money raised will go through our team fund to support more small business owners around the developing world, providing them the capital to expand their businesses and to help themselves out of poverty. Registration is $22 until August 1st, or $25 thereafter. (Runners not in the New York area can also join us virtually for $25 to cover shipping costs.) This 5K race will be electronically timed for a more precise time, and awards given to top 3 runners in each age group and for the top male and female runners overall. 3 month membership to NYSC will also be provided to the top 3 Overall.
In addition, the top 5 participants with the most referrals will be receive a prize from our sponsors (choice of running-related or non-running item).
