Bananamania: "Peel Slowly and See" (VERNISSAGE)

Rouge58 presents the New York debut of Peel Slowly and See, a multidisciplinary project of Bananamania, Hugo Capablanca’s conceptual platform which functions mainly as record label, mobile dancefloor and situationist disco. Rouge58 opened in August 2010 in the heart of Williamsburg. For Peel Slowly and See, Capablanca has put together a cross-paltform show that enhances a temporary store, a polaroid performance, an on site installation and disco. The show will also unveil the Bananamania t-shirt, a limited edition, hand silkscreened item which will be sold exclusively at Rouge58 during New York Fashion Week. As part of the exhibition, Rouge58 will serve as scenario for the worldwide premiere of ’Peel Slowly’, Capablanca’s new video installation featuring fashion icon Tanja Siren. DJ’s will soundtrack the opening night and a guerrilla bar with refreshments will be operating while the space is open.
