Emmy-nominated Actress Amy Poehler will join guest of honor WWO Founder and CEO Dr. Jane Aronson for an extraordinary evening filled with live entertainment, hors d'oeuvres and cocktails to support Worldwide Orphans Foundation (WWO). WWO is dedicated to transforming the lives of orphaned children around the world.
Hosted by WWO board member and Manhattan real estate developer Matthew Blesso, the event is Blesso’s 3rd Annual Birthday Celebration to benefit WWO. This spectacular evening will feature musical and artistic performances from around the world both inside and on the rooftop deck of Blesso’s award-winning penthouse loft. It will include special performances by The Energy, the Ethiopian jazz band Arki, Chloe Temtchin, Irwin Thomas, DJ Vito Fun, acrobatic and aerialist team RI KI KAI and more...
Brooklyn-based artist Andrew Ohanesian will reconstruct his critically-acclaimed bar installation, Mandies, for the benefit. Guests will experience the shock of stepping into a Brooklyn dive bar from the roof of a Noho penthouse and becoming both bartender and guest, at once.
Poehler of ’Parks and Recreation’ will serve up some laughter and speak alongside Dr. Jane Aronson, founder and CEO of WWO, who will share WWO’s work to address the unique needs of orphans worldwide. An internationally-renown pediatrician, Dr. Aronson was recognized as one of Glamour magazine’s ’Women of the Year’ 2009 for her efforts to draw attention to the plight of the world’s orphans.
