First Book – Manhattan Kick-Off Fundraising Event

Event Description: First Book - Manhattan will host a Kick-Off Fundraising Event on Thursday, June 16, at 7 p.m. at Gallery Bar in the Lower East Side. The event, which will include light snacks and a raffle, will mark the beginning of the organization’s formal operations and will kick-off its first fundraising push. First Book - Manhattan is part of First Book’s national network of volunteer-led Advisory Boards who provide new books to children in need in communities across the country. Comprised of volunteers from all sectors of the community, First Book - Manhattan works to promote and facilitate the distribution of new books to children of literacy programs in the New York City area, specifically in Manhattan.
