Versatile choreographer Lydia Johnson is inspired by that great American music and by blues piano pieces by Albert Ammons and Pete Johnson for her upbeat new group dance, which will premiere June 17-19 during the Company's season at the Ailey Citigroup Theater. The program will also see the premiere of Summer House, previewed earlier this year. The delicate new quartet is tinged with memories of summers in rented cottages and set to Philip Glass's Piano Etudes and Poems for Solo Cello. The ensemble of fourteen dancers will be joined by special guest Sean Patrick Mahoney of the Paul Taylor Dance Company.
