One of New York’s premiere catering and event establishments, Villa Russo (villarussocatering.com) will be hosting the Villa Russo annual comedy night to support the St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children. In attendance, supporting the event and St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children, will be founder of New York’s premier social networking site for women, Val Tignini of ValSecrets. The comedy night benefit begins at 7pm EST, Friday, March 11, 2011 at their Queen’s facility, 118-16 101st Ave, Richmond Hill, Queens, NY 11419.
All proceeds from the event will support St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children, a not-for-profit healthcare organization located in New York St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children is committed to improving the health and quality of life for children and families with special needs. As the largest provider of long-term home healthcare for children in New York State and one of the nation’s leading providers of pediatric post-acute care, St. Mary’s provides a continuum of care, treating nearly 4,000 children each day throughout the metropolitan area through a network of inpatient, home care and community programs and services, setting a standard of excellence in pediatric healthcare.
Tickets are $100 per person and include admission plus food and drinks for the evening. Bids for the auction will only be accepted at the event and prizes include, among other valuable prizes, tickets to a NY Knicks game including a trip to the floor of the Garden, and a picture with and signed basketball from Carmello Anthony.
Attendees will enjoy the comedy of Vic D, John Prizzi, and Mike Vecchione. Vic D has been performing stand-up comedy for many years and has been featured on VH1’s Stand Up Stoplight, A&E’s Comedy on the Road, and Montreal ’Just for Laughs’ Festival, worked as the warm-up act for The Ricki Lake Show and Who Wants to be a Millionaire, and was the grand prize winner of ABC’s America’s Funniest People. John Prizzi is known for his ventriloquism comedy act. He has been featured as a regular at the Riveria Hotel in Las Vegas, the Borgata Hotel in Atlantic City and a member of the Friars Club in New York City and Los Angeles; and opened for such acts as Jerry Vale, Johnny Maestro and the Brooklyn Bridge, Joy Behar, Weird Al Yankovic, The Trammps, The Regents, Al Martino, and Clint Holmes. Mike Vecchione eas recently featured on NBC’s Last Comic Standing, XM satellite radio, ABC's coverage of the New York Comedy Festival, and Howard Stern on Demand as well as being featured in independent films, playing the lead role in the off Broadway production of Tony-n-Tina's Wedding.
