PURE LUCK presents - 1st Annual Charity Art Exhibition Series 3 exhibitions benefiting good causes through art! Help us celebrate our one year anniversary while raising funds for those in need. BEAUTIFUL ISLAND ’BEAUTIFUL ISLAND’ is an applause for Japan, one hand helping out and one hand celebrating the beauty, of it’s people and culture. Japan is a special place held dear to so many. Exhibiting artworks by Takashi Kamei, Beau Rhee & Brett Casper Benefiting: Japan Society Earthquake Relief Fund May 5th - May 25th, 2011 440 Broadway 2nd Floor SOHO NYC OPENING RECEPTION - May 5th, 6:30 - 10pm Sponsored by OMG Jeans & Brooklyn Brewery TAKASHI KAMEI Japanese fashion photographer Takashi Kamei has been published in titles such as i-D, Dazed and Confused (UK, Japan), Vogue Nippon, Numero Tokyo, Harper`s Bazaar Japan, Vanity Fair (Germany) Commons&sense, Milk, GQ Japan, Marie Claire Japan, Nylon Japan, Tokion, high fashion, Pen and many more. BEAU RHEE Drawing from her passion for dance, Beau Rhee creates a unique oeuvre that explores choreography in context of gesture and architecture. She received her B.A. Dance & B.A. Art History from Columbia University (cum laude). Her previous formal training includes: Bill T Jones Dance Company, New York City Ballet and Boston Ballet. She has shown artwork and performed at The New Museum, X-Initiative, Exit Art, P.S.1/MoMA, Musée d’Art et d’Histoire and Musée Ariana. BRETT CASPER Brett Casper’s images develop the concept ’compulsive beauty’ in contemporary context, fusing both the surreal and real, perceived and experienced into images that powerfully render the potentiality of the situation. Curated by Brett Casper The 1st Annual Charity Art Exhibitions Series will consist of 3 exhibitions produced and directed by PURE LUCK. Two in NYC in May at 440 Broadway in SOHO and one in June in San Fransico. Each serving to help raise funds for these charities: - The Japan Society Earthquake Relief Fund - Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) - Task Brasil - Sloan Kettering Memorial Cancer Center Exhibitions benefiting good causes through art! Help us celebrate our one year anniversary while raising funds for those in need. Help PURE LUCK give back to Japan for all the awesome things it has given to the world. Come celebrate and honor everything Japan. PURE LUCK will be giving away prizes and auctioning off paintings, photographs and video. All a memorabila preserving a moment in history while contributing to The Japan Society Earthquake Relief Fund. Remember to bring your check book because pure luck doesn’t work on credit. Mixing the creativity and goodness of people from all walks of life to help open doors of opportunity for Brazilian children.
