| Description |
Visual AIDS has announced its second VAVA Voom Spring Benefit, which will feature the Sixth Annual Visual AIDS Vanguard Awards with an evening of cabaret starring iconic performers Justin Vivian Bond accompanied by Nath Ann Carrera, and Phoebe Legere. Taking place at The Park on May 16, 2011, the event will honor artists Geoffrey Hendricks and Richard Renaldi, and gallerist, Brent Sikkema. The awards will be presented to them respectively by William Pope.L, Hilton Als, and Lesley A. Martin. Actor, television personality and stand-up comedian John Fugelsang, will host the evening while DJ Senti-Mental shows off his skills on the turntables. Also featured will be, "Fair and Honest Appraisals of Your Appearance", a special performance by The Bumbys. The cabaret performances and award ceremony will begin at 7:30pm.
