Wellness In The Schools, a NYC-based non-profit organization that inspires healthy eating, environmental awareness and fitness as a way of life for the city's public school children, is hosting a benefit on May 16th.
Presented by (WITS), in partnership with Chop’t Creative Salad Co., Cartoon Network and Edible Manhattan, the event will be held at the 360 Tribeca Rooftop in Manhattan. The honorary host committee is comprised of state politicians: Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, Congressman Joe Crowley, Congresswoman Nita Lowery, Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney and Congressman Greg Meeks.
Bill Telepan of Telepan Restaurant and the Executive Chef of WITS will prepare tastings of signature dishes along with chefs from 26 restaurants, such as: L’Artusi, August, Babbo, Barbuto, Boqueria, Butter, Candle 79, Chop’t Creative Salad, Green Table, Commerce, Craft, Dovetail, Fatty Crab, FCI, Gramercy Tavern, Marc Forgione, Perilla, Suenos, and Tribeca Grill and more.
Sotheby’s Vice Chairman Ben Doller will head a live and silent auction in which guests can bid on some great items, including a private dinner at Red Rooster with chefs Jonathan Waxman and Marcus Samuelsson, who are both involved with WITS. The proceeds will go toward improving environmental wellness and nutrition for New York City’s children.
