Coach is pleased to announce a special evening with Joshua David and Robert Hammond, the founders of Friends of the High Line, on Wednesday, Nov. 30th, at Coach’s 595 Madison Avenue flagship. The two will be on hand to sign copies of their new book, “High Line: The Inside Story of New York City’s Park in the Sky,” published by Farrar, Straus and Giroux.
Guests will have the opportunity to purchase the book and meet with David and Hammond. The event, co-hosted by New York magazine, will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. and is open to the public. Fans of New York’s newest park can have the founders personalize a copy of “High Line” and peruse the latest offerings from Coach for men and women. A portion of the evening’s proceeds will be donated to Friends of the High Line.
The organization was founded in 1999 to advocate for the preservation of the elevated railroad line. The High Line opened as a New York City park in June 2009, with a second section opening in June 2011, and today enjoys a reputation as one of the most loved and modern parks around. Friends of the High Line continues as a non-profit, private partner to the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation, overseeing the maintenance, operations, public programming and fundraising for the park.
Coach is an active supporter of Friends of the High Line and salutes the group’s tenacity and commitment to New York’s West Side. The north-most entrance to the park is blocks away from Coach headquarters and Coach recently announced its new global headquarters will be adjacent to the next phase of the High Line at the West Side Rail Yards.
