Africa Foundation is holding Art for Africa™ Gala Dinner at Sotheby’s New York on October 12th, 2011 in New York City.
The Art for Africa™ Gala Dinner will be a prelude to the art auction on November 17th at Sotheby’s. There will be a cocktail reception at 6:30pm followed by a seated dinner at 8pm. Selected works by artists who have donated works to the Art for Africa™ auction in November will be highlighted at the Gala Dinner. Artists include: Alexander Calder, Alex Katz, Peter Beard, Andy Warhol, Hunt Slonem, Nick Cave, Ross Bleckner, Mickalene Thomas, Hank Willis Thomas, Shinique Smith, Jeff Sonhouse, E.V. Day, Donald Baechler, Gary Komarin, Nabil Nahas, Julian Lethbridge, Matt McGee and African artists Beezy Bailey, Dylan Lewis, Sue Williamson, Hasan and Husain Essop, Mikhael Subotzky, Peterson Kamwathi, Paul Balmer amongst many others.
