City Parks Foundation’s (CPF) Annual Gala will be held on Thursday, October 6th at the historic Gracie Mansion. The fundraiser will honor David Moore and David Rivel with the People and Parks Award for their hard work and dedication to City Parks Foundation’s free programming and support of New York City’s parks. The awards will be presented by First Deputy Mayor Patricia E. Harris and Real Estate Developer, Bruce Ratner.
The Annual Gala is City Parks Foundation’s biggest and most important fundraising event of the year. This year’s gala has already raised over $800,000 to help support City Parks Foundation’s free programs and community building initiatives in 750 parks throughout all five boroughs. The organization hopes to break the million dollar mark at the event.
David Rivel served City Parks Foundation as Executive Director from 2001 to 2011. Over the course of 10 years of exceptional leadership and dedication, he helped CPF to become an essential NYC institution. During his tenure, the organization built a Junior Golf Center, and expanded sports, arts and education programs to reach more than 600,000 New Yorkers each year.
David Moore has served as a trustee of City Parks Foundation for nearly 10 years. He has helped guide the organization through various leadership positions, and since 2007, David has served as Chair of the Executive Committee and Chairman of the Board. City Parks Foundation has grown substantially since he joined the board - programs have doubled and the endowment has tripled.
