LA RESISTANCE is the brainchild of Greg Summerlin, who after releasing several solo albums on Superphonic Records, formed his new band with friends that have played with him over the past several years. The band's debut album, Philisophy, was released in February, and soon the group will release a follow up EP with covers from Echo and the Bunnymen, New Order, Jesus and Mary Chain, Joy Division and Gang of Four. A stellar collection of covers. Backing up Greg in LA RESISTANCE is Wil Drake, formerly of Moses Mayfield, Jake Blount and Erin Tumlin.
Greg's songs have appeared in several shows and movies, and LA RESISTANCE's debut album has been covered by Magnet, Blurt, My Old Kentucky Blog, Popmatters, Under the Radar, KEXP and many others. It even climbed up the CMJ charts.
LA RESISTANCE is described as a modern version of the beloved Factory Records sound from Manchester and it shows. Innovative and catchy, you will surely want to check out the band when they're in town.
