The Montblanc Writers Project for the 24 Hour Plays on Broadway was
initiated in collaboration with the 24 Hour Plays Company and Urban Arts
Partnership to provide a once in a lifetime opportunity for aspiring young
writers to pen one of the six plays performed during the 24 Hour Plays on
Broadway. This year, the cast of HBO’s “How to Make It In America”
including Lake Bell, Bryan Greenwood, and Victor Rasuk will participate
in the reading of the student plays, acting alongside student alumni from the
Urban Arts playwriting program.
The judging panel for this years Montblanc Writer’s Project winner will
include Actress and Urban Arts Partnership Founder Rosie Perez, Montblanc
CEO Jan-Patrick Schmitz, and other esteemed arts patrons.
This year marks the 10th Anniversary of the 24 Hour Plays on Broadway
taking place November 14th, 2011 and the winner of the Montblanc Writer’s
Project will have the opportunity to work with a mentor to create of the six
short pieces to be performed by participating talent such as Jason Sudeikis
(Saturday Night Live), Jesse Eisenberg (The Social Network), Sarah
Silverman (The Sarah Silverman Show), Julia Stiles (Dexter) Tracy Morgan
(30 Rock) and many others.
