Australian songstress Lanie Lanie (pronounced “Lannie”) is coming to the U.S. for select shows, including a set at Rockwood 2 this Wednesday, September 28th. Don’t miss your chance to catch a sneak peek of this incredible up and coming talent who is sure to make a big splash in 2012. Lanie Lane just released a single on her Jack White produced 7” inch single on Third Man Records which includes the fuzz bass stomp of "Ain't Hungry" (fuzz bass handled expertly by White himself) and a wailing waltzing lament to withheld love, "My Man.” Check out the video for “Ain’t Hungry” here. Adding sass to the smoky, sultry sounds of a bygone era, Lanie Lane is an undeniable talent who draws on the past and plants it very firmly in the here and now. Imbued with the spirit of Muddy Waters, and channeling the grit of Billie Holiday, Lanie Lane wraps the sounds of a golden age around a voice that is as rich and warm as it is sweet. Cramming as much touring, recording and general musical activity as possible into the first few months of 2011, Lanie completed a national Australian tour throughout March supporting Justin Townes Earle and jumped on the big silver bird in May to play her very first shows in LA, New York and London to overwhelmingly enthusiastic crowds. Soon after she released the smoky single “What Do I Do” worldwide, and promptly hit the road with Fitz & The Tantrums as well as played a stirring set at the Splendour in the Grass festival. After these select U.S. dates, Lanie Lane will return to Oz to put the finishing touches on her debut record, to be released in 2012.
