Nicki MinajNYC Spot: The Red Lobster, 2090 Bartow Ave Queens native Nicki Minaj wasn’t always as glamorous and outrageous as she is today. After graduating from the famed LaGuardia High School for performing arts, the American Idol judge tried her hand at acting Off-Broadway. When that didn’t take off, she took up a gig as a waitress at the Red Lobster in the Bronx. Minaj was soon fired for poor performance, but lucky for us she found a better fit: Grammy-nominated superstar.
