Speculation: M.I.A, Life Documentary
M.I.A is no stranger to controversy. One of the most provocative and successful recording artists of our time is a refugee daughter of a Sri Lankan terrorist. Her political messages in her lyrics have been compared to that of Bob Dylan and U2. There's no doubt that she has talent- but due to much controversy, M.I.A. is having trouble getting her movie out. Director Steve Loveridge leaked the fascinating trailer about the singer's life- creating massive buzz for the piece.
However, M.I.A's labels disagree. Now all she needs is money for production and distribution.
This tweet could be indication that M.I.A. will reach out to fans via the group-funding site to get her documentary out ASAP.
