Sure it took some time, and probably far more than she would have cared for, but I really don't think we care or judge Monica for her previous experience. And I think, and hope, that that says something positive about our society today. Something we should look to be proud of and continue to grow with respect to.
True, I still need only scroll through my phone to find evidence suggesting we're still a far way off from everyone, everywhere being friends. But at least New York, with the push of those lovingly friendly and forgiving bastards of the gay community, is embracing this woman in her attempts to vindicate herself from the tarnish of a youthful indiscretion.
