Humphrey Bogart
The son of a wealthy surgeon, Humphrey Bogart grew up in Morningside Heights at 245 West 103rd Street near Broadway. The tree-lined street, now named Humphrey Bogart Place, is no longer home to luxury brownstones, but city-owned, low-income housing. While living on the Upper West Side, he attended one of the top Manhattan prep schools, Trinity, on West 91st Street. After he left his childhood home, he lived at 43 East 25th Street and 260-266 West 96th Street, before moving to Hollywood with his starlet wife Lauren Bacall.
