Matthew Broderick & Sarah Jessica Parker

Matthew Broderick & Sarah Jessica Parker
Who can forget Sarah Jessica Parker's black wedding dress? That's right, the "Sex And The City" actress got married in black to fellow movie star Matthew Broderick in 1997. Their wedding was a secret one. 100 guests were invited to New York for what they thought was just a party. They didn't know that the couple was getting married until they arrived at the Angel Orensanz Synagogue. The vows were officiated by Broderick's sister, Janet Broderick Kraft, an Episcopal minister. The groom wore an off-the-rack suit, and Sarah Jessica Parker bought the first dress she saw: a black dress with a fitted bodice and a full ruffled skirt. In 2009, she told Harper's Bazaar that she regrets her dress choice:
“I’m not kidding. White it up. I’d wear a beautiful, proper wedding dress, like I should have worn on the day."
Dress regrets aside, the wedding went off without a hitch and the reception that followed kept guests partying until 2 AM. At the end of the evening, each guest was given a wedding favor: a piece of cake with a note from Sarah Jessica Parker that read,
Put this under your pillow, and dream of your true love.
Today, the pair is still happily married with three children, including a set of twin girls. [Photo via]
