Thom was considered a major leader during the 70’s Feminist movement. She fought for equal pay and other women’s rights, but always stayed behind the scenes because she never enjoyed being center stage. “She had a gift for helping people tell their own story, not for helping them sound like others, but helping them find their own voice,” according to Gloria Steinem.
