Matmos, Hair-Razing Electronica
"The point of music is: it ends," said Drew Daniel of electronica duo Matmos, whose epitaph was: "Here lies Matmos; they made sounds that people and penguins enjoy." To illustrate his point, the Assistant Professor at Johns Hopkins University presented a mix of musical endings ranging from Beethoven to Def Leppard. Later, he spun electronic jams of his own creation while a man armed with tweed and an electric razor shaved the head of a long-haired boy. Beethoven never would have thought of that finale!
