For readers of a certain age, no one was perhaps more pivotal to the understanding and experience of young adulthood than author Judy Blume. Long before social media, the writer introduced countless adolescents to the trials and tribulations of growing up, from first loves and friendship to the wackiness of puberty and discovery of sexuality.

Thanks to her trailblazing frankness and honesty, Blume has remained beloved across regions and generations. But to many of the powers that be, she's also been labeled a polarizing figure. From the 1980s to today, with book bans and censorship sweeping across the country, the author has stood in the face of controversy and continues to fight the good fight on the side of free speech and openness, especially when it comes to books for young people.

In the midst of this revitalized stand against censorship, Judy Blume Forever, a new documentary spotlighting the icon's own coming-of-age story and inimitable influence on pop culture and beyond, is set to debut on Prime Video April 21st.

In honor of the exciting new release, Guest of a Guest teamed up with Lingua Franca and Prime Video to give our favorite fashionable book-lovers an exclusive sneak peek at the film. Hosted at the beyond-chic Cannes screening room at Tribeca's buzziest hot spot hotel, Fouquet's, the cocktail soirée and screening was a celebration of all things Judy Blume and empowerment.

Of course, this was no ordinary movie night. A slew of stylish guests mixed and mingled over a colorful array of candy canapés, macarons, and Whispering Angel rosé before grabbing their popcorn and sitting back in one of Fouquet's ultra-luxe loungers to enjoy the show.

To end the evening on-theme, guests went home with new copies of Blume classics, Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret and Forever, as well as hand-embroidered T-shirts courtesy of Lingua Franca.
