Inside Last Night's Teach For America 9th Annual Fall Fling

by Katrina Southerland · October 21, 2016

Last night, Teach For America – New York (TFA-NY) held its 9th annual Fall Fling fundraiser at Marquee nightclub. Hosted by the organization’s Young Professionals Committee (YPC), the event brought together nearly 500 of NYC’s rising philanthropists to support TFA-NY’s pursuit of great neighborhood schools. Attendees enjoyed open bar, hors d'oeuvres, and were challenged with a “mission” to become #TFAmous.

Those who accepted were met at the door with glow in the dark wristbands and told to get as many as possible before the night was over. Wristband earning activities included photo booths with teaching props, a silent auction, and balloon dart boards. Each time attendees participated in an activity they gained another glow in the dark bracelet. The event raised over $100,000benefitting TFA-NY’s work with NYC teachers & schools.
