What happens when four fashion friends come together to create the collection they've always wished to see in their closets? Black Iris, a romantic ready-to-wear line, is born.

Dreamy dresses, floral frocks, and chic separates make up the Spring/Summer 2019 debut of the limited-edition label founded by Candice Miller (of  Mama & Tata), Aly Gradone, Chloe Rosenberg, and Rachel Wexler. Needless to say, the launch called for a celebration as chic as the clothes - and the women behind them.

Held last week at a private townhouse on the Upper East Side, in a dining room boasting walls of modern art by the likes of Basquiat and Keith Haring, Black Iris's dinner soiree saw well-heeled guests including Mary-Kate Olsen, Nell Diamond, Leandra Cohen, Tracy Anderson, Hilary Rhoda, and Arielle Charnas. A gorgeous tablescape designed by Simply Perfect Events, with flowers by Arthur Golabek, set the scene for a meal curated by the private in-home chef company The Culinistas. The place cards? A custom drawing of each attendee (decked out in a Black Iris ensemble, natch) by artist Katherine Moffet.
