Of A Kind For GofG: What To Wear To The New Museum Spring Gala After Party

by Erica Cerulo · April 5, 2011

Who doesn't want to go to a gala hosted by Alexandra Richards--to benefit one of the coolest art venues in town, no less? If you're looking for an outfit, Erica Cerulo of limited-editions site Of a Kind has put together some great outfit ideas to get you started! Show your support for the museum and some of the most talented fashion up-and-comers around by wearing these pieces.

    1. This is not the floaty, chiffon sort of scene, so opt for an architectural number from Brian Reyes that's plenty dressy without being at all uptown. (Bonus: It's available at Rent the Runway so you don't even have to make room in your closet.)

    2. With its swatch of python and its box chain, this Khirma Eliazov bag looks super luxe. But the color is so fun and in-your-face-and would look awesome paired with an equally crazy nail color (maybe something green?)

    3. The porcupine quills of this bold Michelle Lane necklace are actually made of Lucite-a material that would look very much at home in the clean-lined New Museum.

    4. Because there will be plenty of punky leather jackets on the premises this trench-from the L.A. phenom Kelly Bergin-will pop. It would look pretty amazing with ratty jeans and a pair of brogues, too.
